My work
- Tirlebrook Primary School: Design and build for a primary school based here in Tewkesbury. The site was built to use Wordpress as the CMS thereby making it quick and easy to update. The theme and back end were heavily modified to create a unique and engagin design for new and prospective parents and pupils.
- NJP Hosting: A website design done for a web hosting company (as the name suggests) on behalf of a friend. The brief was a dark theme, but no pictures of servers anywhere. Cue some serious head-scratching over imagery then! The website was handcoded to web standards then integrated into the back end systems.
- Destiny Realised: A website for the popular MMORPG Anarchy Online, is an offshoot from an existing project. The site uses the popular blogging platform / CMS Wordpress to power news, comments and home page. Additionally, the fourm is powered by bbpress and integrated into the overall website design and structure.
- Dark Revolution: An in-game organisation website for the popular MMORPG Anarchy Online. The site is hand-coded and updated with news announcements, links and events. I'm also the forum administrator and moderator.
- National Childbirth Trust: The NCT Cheltenham & North Cotswold Branch wants all parents to have an experience of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood that enriches their lives and gives them confidence in being a parent. I was involved in helping setup the website using a popular CMS called Joomla!
- Sponge Project: The original design for this website, which was first saw the light of day in late 2006 and eventrually redesigned, along with the blog, in early 2008.
My competition entries
To keep my hand in I sometimes enter design competitions for various websites. Below is a selection of some of the work I undertook. Please note that although I entered the competitions I did not necessarily win.
- Space Modifications: Space is a PC Modification site specialising in all different forms of case modifications such as Colour Anodising, Laser Cutting and Water-cooling Fitting. The compeition entry was designed over the course of a couple of nights and was all done by hand. I received a 2nd place award.
- Silverspoon Investments: A hand coded site for a real estate and finance company in the states, again for Sitepoint. It recieved four out of five stars.
- Origin internship: Another Sitepoint entry coded across a couple of days by hand. Tthe competition also included the option to design a logo. The competition holder said:
It starts well with a good logo, however the design and layout is really something that we are not looking for. It is too simple.
Oh well you can't win them all!
